Subic Park Hotel: a video tour

Hello from Subic!

This is our second day and night for the 5D/4N Capacity Building Programs Manual Workshop (Work Camp) like the one we did in Davao last week and in Tagaytay in the previous months. In total, including the first step in February 2010, the CBP Work Group has been doing this for the 7th time already. If I remember correctly, one in NIA Central Office, two in Days Hotel, Tagaytay, one in Iba, Zambales (can’t recall the name right now), another two in Days Hotel, Tagaytay, one in Brokeshire Resort and Convention Center in Davao and the last one (that would be outside of NIA CO) currently happening now in Subic Park Hotel.

This is also the last work trip I would be making for the Project, and all the members of TCP2’s JICA team for that matter. I have not counted how many field works and business trips I have made over the past two years while working with the project. Knowing that this could really be the last also hits me with a realization that the Project is indeed about to end. But this “realization” will be for another post probably in my personal blog and the number of work-related trips taken as another in this blog which I will write once I’m able to count all my travel applications stored in my office PC.

For now, let me take you to a video tour (the first one I made!) of Subic Park Hotel, our venue for this work camp. I took this video just after having another sumptuous dinner (to burn the calories!!!) and just a few minutes (turned hours as Tetet, Lalai and I discussed their travel ticket from Davao to Singapore and back. they’ll be meeting me for the Singapore and KL leg!)  before writing this post (and after replying to replies to my post over at CouchSurfing.org).

Anyway, I took the video while walking slash running from outside the hotel up to the third and final floor. This means that the video is somewhat related to Cloverfield. If you get dizzy, don’t say I didn’t warn you. Haha.:D The video tour is just about the hotel lobby, restaurant, hallways and stairs. I said in the video that it’s a “photo tour ” coz I was taking pictures in and around the hotel just moments earlier.  More hotel, restaurant, hallway and stair pictures as well as rooms and outside area/views will be posted in another post.

So, in the meantime, I hope this video tour will help you decide whether or not staying here would be a good choice. To note, most of the guests I see around here are families. That’s how homey the atmosphere is. The staff, especially front desk and kitchen, are quite nice as well. 🙂 In my opinion, the price range is ok for the rates given to us via the group package. On my own, however, I won’t be staying here and I’ll try to find a cheaper accommodation somewhere else. to avoid making a hole in my pockets. But if you have the money to spend, I’d say go for it! I think it is a good value for money. Plus I like the shampoo and conditioner container too! Haha. But that’s another story already.

Anyway, here it is. 🙂 Sorry for the quite poor lighting and Cloverfield-Amazing Race videography hybrid. In any case, good mornight and happy wandering!
